A good illustration is usually the first step toward a successful collection, because it will be useful for all those who participate in its production process: from the sales clerk at the fabric store, to the pattern maker, to the client. And it is also useful because they all understand it and know how to translate it as though it were a language. This book of men’s fashion illustrations presents their faces, clothes, and poses. It is both a didactic tool and a base from which fashion illustrators can build their own unique styles. The first half of the book focuses on technical drawings of the human body. The second half then branches out to fashion illustration using media such as watercolor, pastels, acrylics, and pencils.
